Jillian’s professional background includes medical social work and counselling. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work here in Kamloops at TRU and her Masters of Social Work- clinical focus- at UBC in Kelowna.
Throughout her career in mental health, Jillian has worked with all ages, however her most recent work has focused on pediatrics, adolescence, and new parents. She is a Registered Social Worker (license # 12465), is working towards her registered clinical counselling designation with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jillian’s area of special interest is working with a trauma focus using EMDR, OEI, and somatic techniques. Jillian has experience working with people with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma as a mental health service provider.
Jillian is a self-proclaimed “book nerd” and loves to spend her time reading in a hammock in summer, and in a cozy part of the house in the winter. Jillian has been living in Kamloops for twelve years with her two daughters whom she spends much of her time taxiing around Kamloops.
