Founder and director of C&C Resources for Life, Mary Widmer has followed a path that began with Rehabilitation Medicine and eventually led her into Social Work. She has enriched her counseling practice by gaining experience working cross culturally, first in Thailand and more recently in First Nations communities. Along the way she has also benefited by working in an extended care facility, training as a Hospice volunteer, and most recently completing a Master's program in which she specialized in Pastoral Counselling and Family Systems Theory as well as adding specific training in Observed Experiential Integration (OEI). She has also worked extensively with complex and traumatic grief and loss and counts it a privilege to accompany people journeying with grief. She also values the opportunities that she has had to learn to work holistically with them and support them in setting boundaries, increasing their sense of personal worth, improving their relationships, developing communication skills and overcoming addictions as they learn to reconstruct life after their particular loss.
